The Tiger's Claw is a professional thieves' guild in Sigil's Hive Ward, based out of a run-down manor house in the Marble District.
Members:
Formerly named the Broken Finger, the guild was reformed under the leadership of Al-Rashid and transformed into an efficient, professional guild available to the highest bidder. There are a variety of talents among their ranks, including box men(lockpickers), second story men(break-and-enter specialists), forgers, fences, and simple cutpurses or muscle.
Although the Tiger's Claw is based in the Hive Ward, it does most of its work in the other Wards of the city, usually targeting wealthy nobles and merchants. Members of the guild are encouraged to share their boss's sense of honor, and members caught preying on the weak or downtrodden can expect expulsion from the guild to be the lightest punishment they receive.
Two years ago, the Tiger's Claw took a blow to their reputation when Al-Rashid sent his three best men to fulfill a contract assassinating a corrupt noble and stealing a valuable opal from his home. Unbeknownst to them, the noble was secretly an Acolyte of Sigil's Temple of the Abyss, and the opal was an important component in an upcoming ritual. The Temple's vengeance was swift; one of the three thieves was killed by an assassin's crossbow, the other two were captured by a platoon of Harmonium watch officers who were suspiciously well-informed about their whereabouts.
The loss of the guild's best and brightest demoralized many of their best members, who drifted off to seek work elsewhere. Only a small core of about 40 remained. The damage to the guild's reputation meant clients started the dry up, and the Tiger's Claw was forced to accept less prestigious jobs.
Just when things were looking at their worst, Calaban appeared on their doorstep, offering an alliance with an out-of-town thieves guild called the Rise of the Swift. In return for allowing them to smuggle goods through their territory, the Swift would share a cut of the profits with the Tiger's Claw.
Two days from signing the deal, the Tiger's Claw was presented with evidence that the Rise of the Swift was involved in slave trading by the PCs. Realizing that he was once again being tricked and betrayed, Al-Rashid left Calaban's fate to trial by combat with the PCs chosen champion… a trial which Calaban did not survive.
Now a new uncertainty clouds the future of the Tiger's Claw. Whether the Rise of the Swift or Calaban's allies will seek revenge remains unknown, but the guild stands ready to face whatever fate has in store. (See The story so far)
